Vintage French Cutlery 12 pces

This beautiful set of vintage French Silver plated Cutlery consists of 6 generous forks and 6 generous spoons. Each is hall marked and very heavily adorned with scrolls, flowers and medaillons on both sides. A fantastic vintage set which will remain in the family for ever. Size: L Spoon 21cm, Fork 21.5cm. The set of 12 weighs 1059 grms. Postage from France included.

History:
Vintage sets often did not include any knives. Cutlery sets were often given as wedding gifts. To have knives included, met with superstition. Giving the gift of knives, one thought that it would sever the bond between the married couple. That is why you often find sets of boxed knives separately in antique stores.
