Vintage French Bronze Door knocker

This gorgeous French Door knocker, or Heurtoir de porte Main, is made from solid bronze. It is made in the shape of a hand. Here in Provence many many doors are adorned with such door kncokers made from bronze or iron. A hand with a ring on it, (such as this one for sale) means that a married lady lives in the house.
